The Ashes' 12-match unbeaten run, which took them close to the title challengers was brought to an end by a good St Dennis outfit who themselves kept in touch with the top two with their fourth victory in a row.

This was a good game that could have gone either way, although the hosts – who have applied to join the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League – had a Scott Hill 'goal' disallowed in the first half.

They eventually took the lead when Carl Rickard fed his brother, Lee, who scored with ease.
