NEWLY-refurbished toilets in Liskeard's Westbourne and Sungirt car parks are to open to the public.

Liskeard Town Council agreed to take over the facilities from Cornwall Council subject to their complete refurbishment, including new fixtures and fittings, and paintwork.

Many people in the town had expressed concerns at the prospect of losing the public conveniences, under closures threatened by Cornwall Council.
