A hygiene inspection at a Chinese restaurant in Looe revealed 'serious breaches' of regulations putting customers at risk, a court heard.
Simon Chung, the former owner of the Peking Gardens restaurant in Looe, pleaded guilty to five food hygiene offences and was fined a total of £6,250 by magistrates in Bodmin.
In addition to the fines, Chung, 49, of Mannamead, Plymouth, was ordered to pay £2,300 costs.
Cornwall Council brought the prosecution after a routine hygiene inspection of the Peking Gardens in June 2009 found a number of serious breaches of food hygiene legislation.
