CIVILIAN staff at HMS Raleigh will put their best foot forward by joining the Royal Navy's latest recruits for parade training on Thursday, March 10 to raise money for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day. A platoon of 14 people joined recruits on the parade ground as they rehearsed for Friday's Passing-in Parade. Dressed in the fancy dress theme of 'What you were wearing when the ship went down', the staff were put through their paces by members of the parade staff. They were required to march smartly and stand to attention while a senior officer from the establishment inspected them. Speaking prior to the event, organiser Christine Walkling, said: 'We have been putting some practice at lunch times to make sure we were up to standard. This is our way of having some fun while raising money for a good cause. 'We shall be taking out collecting buckets with us and hope that the sailors and our colleagues from Raleigh will dip into their pockets to make a donation.'
