Liskeard Town Council is encouraging residents to back a bid to become the Best Recycling Town in South East Cornwall in a competition sponsored by Viridor Waste Management. Until mid-January waste recycling is being calculated by weight, with the heaviest town winning a first prize of £1,000. Liskeard people are asked to pack up all their old newspapers, catalogues, jars, and bottles, and especially drinks cans and plastic containers.
