Cornwall’s Archives and Cornish Studies Service has been awarded Archive Service Accreditation by  the UK Archive Service Accreditation Committee, representing the entire archive sector.

Accreditation is the UK quality standard which recognises good performance in all areas of archive service, including caring for unique collections, good management and resourcing, and what the service offers its users.

Cornwall Council’s Archives and Cornish Studies Service is made up of Cornwall Record Office in Truro and the Cornish Studies Library in Redruth. Together, they are home to thousands of manuscripts, maps, photographs and books related to Cornwall’s history.

The Service, and collections, will come together under one roof in 2018 in Kresen Kernow, Cornwall’s new archive centre, which is being built on the former Redruth Brewery site.
