For the first time this season the Ashes failed to score in a second consecutive game as the Clarets, who have themselves not scored in over 300 minutes of football, executed a second-half shut out at Kimberley Stadium. It was an entertaining encounter despite the lack of goals. The Clarets had the better of the opening 45 minutes but the Ashes were more dominant after the break. Launceston began with Adam Yeo's second-minute goal-bound drive from 15 yards blocked by Richard Westcott's challenge. Sam Davey's pace caused the home defence problems in the first half with the former Elburton striker playing a neat one-two with Charlie Blair before seeing his lob narrowly clear the bar. Saltash came back into the game as the half wore on with Marc Thorne and Sam Hughes failing to convert half chances before the break.
