AS A war is waged against parking on pavements, a veteran of local politics has suggested re-booting an old campaign.
Norman Pampling, 93, has described the danger and the difficulty of navigating cars that block the footpath. He uses a mobility scooter - but says the problem is faced by mothers with pushchairs and the disabled too.
Mr Pampling, who was mayor of Liskeard four times, used brightly coloured warning leaflets on the windscreens of offending drivers, when he was on the Town Council.
Now he would like to see the eye-catching cards printed again.
‘If councillors came across vehicles parked on the pavements, they stuck them behind the windscreen wipers,’ he said.
‘They really worked.’
