In this Cornwall U-18 quarter final tie talented young Launceston side did not seem to battle as well as Saltash in the wet and windy condition at Pennygillam but Matt Ost hit an unstoppable shot from 25 yards after 20 minutes to put Launceston ahead and Steve Wickett made it 2-0 shortly afterwards.

The young Clarets seemed to ease off a little and Saltash pressed hard and could have gone ahead but for three superb reflex saves from Launceston's goalie Jonathan Parsons.

David Rollerson then pounced on a mistake by the Saltash defence to give Launceston a 3-0 half time lead.

Against the wind in the second half Launceston held firm but Parsons had to make another great save before Liam Tilley supplied Wickett with a superb pass and he made no mistake to make it 4-0 to Launceston.
