Two rare species of jellyfish have been discovered living among the rocks at Hannafore in Looe.

The tiny stalked jellyfish are no larger than a thumbnail and are well camouflaged in their seaweed habitat.

Members of the Looe Marine Conservation Group already knew one type of stalked jellyfish was living as a protected species in the Looe and Whitsand Bay Marine Conservation Zone, but during a joint survey with Natural England staff last month, volunteers found 26 creatures belonging to two further types among the rocks and are hoping these, too, will be accorded special protection.
