A bird from a species more at home in the Himalayan Mountains has been spotted on Bodmin Moor.
The bar-headed goose, so called because of the two dark bars running around the back of its white head, normally breeds in Central Asia in colonies of thousands near mountain lakes.
However, some have been introduced to the UK and one was seen by Andy Martin, of Menheniot, at Siblyback Lake.
The species has the accolade of having the world’s highest flying birds because they can fly higher than Mount Everest.
