CHILDREN at Burraton School celebrated opening extensions of four classrooms. School caretaker Terry Meaney cut the gold ribbon assisted by two of the pupils, Imogen Bryce and Matthew Else to declare the new larger classrooms open. A song was performed thanking the architects. Headteacher Martin Bell welcomed the architect of the project, David Grabham of Kendall Kingscott, and Vicky Williams representing the builders AD Williams, and Steve Daspher, foreman for the Building works. The cost of £120,000 was paid for by the Government and allocated from the fund for building improvements. The extended space in the four classrooms now gives more working space for both teachers and pupils. Mr Bell said they had been working in very cramped conditions.
