PRIMARY pupils from Delaware School got pedalling to help raise more than £500 for Diabetes UK.
The youngsters were joined by students from Callington Community College, as well as shoppers and staff, for the fundraising static bike ride at the town's Tesco store.
The equivalent of 250 miles was ridden on a cycle loaned by All Being Well, a Pensilva charity gym that helps people with health problems.
The challenge was part of the two-day national Race to the Pole event for Diabetes UK, which is Tesco's chosen charity for 2013/14.
Trustee of All Being Well Joe Bicarregui said: 'It was an honour for us to take part in this fantastic event again. We really enjoyed meeting and chatting with the volunteer cyclists and the Tesco staff, who could not have been kinder.'
Lynn Nash, Delaware School's executive headteacher, said: 'We are always delighted at Delaware School to support such a worthy cause – and the children had fun too!'
Thanking All Being Well for the loan of the cycle, Tesco manager Martin Hawkins said: 'We are over the moon at exceeding our target and, thanks to the generosity of our customers, we raised £505 for Diabetes UK.'
