The Rod and Line at Tideford was packed for the annual Christmas carol service during which, as is the tradition, a cheque was presented to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
The money, which totalled £9,000, is the proceeds of the pub’s harvest auction held earlier in the year.
MC for the evening was Kevin Grant, who led the service and presented the cheque to Anne Purdon, representing CHSW’s fundraising branch in Liskeard.
A further £1,000 was given to St Germans Primary School, making the auction total £10,000.
Since the auctions first began in the 1990s, the Rod and Line has donated £63,500 to CHSW.
