THE Co-op is helping Callington Bowling Club introduce the sport to new people with a donation of £300. The club wants to promote participation among younger and older groups, as well as people who may be disabled or in wheelchairs, and the grant will fund new bowls including a slimline set which can be used by these groups. The Co-op's Community Dividend Fund is part of the Dividend customer loyalty card scheme which allows shoppers to donate the extra pence in their twice-yearly Dividend payouts to worthy causes. Co-operative group regional secretary Andrew North said: 'We are delighted to be able to support Callington Bowling Club with this donation. 'The Community Dividend Fund offers awards of between £100 and £5,000 to charities and community groups. 'We would be pleased to hear from anyone who needs funding for a project, particularly those which support our co-operative values.' Leaflets on the scheme are available in Co- operative Group stores throughout the region.
