A proposed new baby and toddler group in St Cleer is a step closer thanks to a donation from a building firm.

Volunteers at St Cleer Memorial Hall want to launch a new group for children and their parents to fill the void left by the closure of St Cleer Preschool and Toddler Group.

Soft mats are required to get the project off the ground as the hall currently has a hard parquet floor. 

Persimmon Homes Cornwall has stepped in with a £1,000 donation towards the mats and other play equipment. 

The grant comes as part of Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme. 

Each month Persimmon donates up to £2,000 to charities and community groups within Cornwall.
