A prominent Liskeard pub is under new ownership.

The Fountain was bought just before Christmas and work has already started on the property.

In December, pub chain JD Wetherspoon, which is interested in opening in the town, denied rumours it was interested in the pub on The Parade.

Eventually it was sold to a local buyer.

John Kinsey, partner at estate agents King Sturge, said: 'The Fountain has been sold, it completed prior to Christmas. t was bought by a local purchaser.'
