REIGNING Liskeard and District Euchre League champions London Pride won their postponed match and are now only a point behind leaders Market B.

Pride lost the opening and closing rounds at home to Highwayman, but had three nap rounds for a 12-6 victory.

Dave Soady and Ian Gordon claimed five, Nigel Yeo and Andrew Tamblyn four and William Taylor and Brian Martyn three for the Pride, while Stuart Bennett and Michelle Kitto had three and Phil Lucas and Nigel Kitto two for the Highwayman.

The League would like to pass on its condolences to the family and friends of Alan Wyatt, who has died suddenly.

Alan played for many years at the Con Lions, and also at the Fountain and Red Lion.

He was an extremely fine and keen player who really loved his cards, and his team won the A Section seven times in the last 12 years.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
