THE meeting of representative from the five Caradon towns was very successful, according to the Callington spokesman. Councillor Andrew Long said that the meeting with people from Liskeard, Looe, Saltash, Torpoint and Callington was positive and proved that a lot of the feelings Callington had were shared among the others. Topics discussed included affordable housing, joint publicity, and devolving power to the 'grass roots'. An idea was formed of a five towns festival. Run on separate weeks, each town would take a different theme - with Callington's suggested as music - and encourage visitors from each town to make trips to the others.
