In the excitement of millennium celebrations, the transfer deadline came and went virtually unnoticed but since no transfers were registered with the secretary prior to January 1, all players are now tied to the team for which they last played prior to January 1. Players who have not yet played for any team this season are, of course, still free agents.

The Committee and players in this League extend their deepest sympathies to the family, friends and team mates of Daniel Kebble, who captained the British Legion Gamblers. His loss will be sorely felt by all members of these small communities and brings back painful memories of other dear friends and relatives lost to the sea.

Team Knockout Draw and Venues

The semi-finals of the team knockout are to be played on Thursday, Januuary 27 as follows:-

Henries D v Marquee A at the Ship, Looe.

Ship Inn Dales v Strugglers B at the Boscarn.

Second placed Marquee C took league leaders Ship Inn Dales all the way before the Dales' Peter Ivey toppled Kieron Gregson from the head of the most wins leaderboard, extending the lead to six points with a game in hand, and maintaining their 100% record. Earlier, Martyn Holtam and Marcus LePage had put them ahead before Mark Stevens and Richard Jenkins tied the score.

Pelynt B faced bottom-placed Russell Inn but were unable to make ground on the leaders as they toiled to a 3-2 victory via Glen Northcott, Dave Ede and Steve Eastley.

The Marquee A entertained the Pirates but although Matt Julian fired in an 8-baller en route to a win mirrored by his brother Ali, the good news stopped there as Colin Penhaligan, Bert Stephens and Tim Pearce did the business to bring the Pirates home 3-2.

Marquee B fared better, coming away from Henries with a 3-2 victory over the D's. Alan Ruby, John Kelly and Andrew Champion were on the mark for Marquee and Sean Powell and Karl Bowden replied.

Wreckers made heavy weather of their clash with relegation threatened Henries A - eventually salvaging a 3-2 victory after trailing to strikes by Birdy and Dale Bussell. Nick Alan, Phil Matthews and Darrell Hidson turned the match around for the Wreckers.

Legion A visited the Boscarn where their game completed a matching set of 3-2 scorelines throughout the division. Dave Marks and Vince Beale for the Drifters cancelled out the efforts of Alan Phillips and Shaun Wakeham before Legionís Kev Hinton saw off the challenge of Shaun Pengelly 2-0 to secure the points.
