A company is doing its bit to reduce plastic pollution with a novel new recycling facility.

Waste polystyrene can now be recycled via a dedicated bin in the car park of DS Smith Plastics near Millbrook.

Regional operations manager John Johnstone said: ‘The kind of polystyrene we can accept has to be clean, and would be the kind of packaging you get when you buy a new television or computer, for example.

‘We’d ask people to please call into our reception to double check before dropping their unwanted polystyrene off in the bin as some types unfortunately cannot be recycled, such as loose packing chips.’
