The Ship repeated last week's cup win over the Blue and won their first league match. A good start for the Ship saw Mary Simpson and Maureen Brown triumph over Joe Sturgess and Mark Redgrave. Gill Bicknell pulled one back for the Blue beating Justin Newman, the next three singles all went to the home team with Mark Palmer, Ben Oliver and Betty Turner beating Terry Bicknell, Vern Oxley and Terry Kray. The Ship also won two of the doubles to make the final score 7-2 and seal their first league win of the season.

Ship A travelled to the Legion and came away as the losers. The Ship let a good start slip after Chris Owen and Ray Simpson had put them 2-1 up but Bob Whitewood, Paul Blaver and Ken Crowden joined Mick Curle in the winners column for the Legion whom also managed the one doubles needed for a 5-4 win.

Pelynt A's poor form continued -they haven't won since the opening day of the season. Things didn't get better this week as they went down 7-2 to the Rowett B. The Rowett won five singles through Dave Nutts, Dennis Shaw, Roger Pill, Mike Pengelly and Darren Thomas. Dean Haynes got Pelynt's singles point the doubles went 2-1 in the Rowetts favour to round off a good win.

The Pilchards ended their poor run at the Millhouse. Pilchards went through the card thanks to Ashley Courts, Ellis Puckey, Deano Dicks, Mickey Lawford, Tina Dicks and John Dalton and the brush looked on, but Mill won the last for a final 8-1 scoreline.

With two of the top three playing each other Pelynt B had an amazing 8-1 win over the Rowett A as Lee Bryant was the only Rowett player to win over the distance against Pat Tamblyn. Pelynts winners were Max Facey, Al Phillips, Baz Phillips, Nigel Davis and Martin Dunn. Pelynt managed all five doubles for an 8-1 victory.
