A petition is being organised against the proposed closure of the Lloyds Bank branch in Torpoint.

Torpoint East Cornwall Councillor Brian Hobbs said: ’This will affect the town and Rame Peninsula.’ The Lloyds branch is the last remaining bank in the town.

Cllr Hobbs has placed the petition in shops around the town and is urging people to sign.

The closure is proposed to take place in two months’ time as part of a nationwide programme.
