People in and around Launceston are being invited to find out more about proposals for local health facilities and air quality at the Launceston Community Network Panel meeting on Thursday, September 21 in Launceston Town Hall.

Phil Confue from Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will brief the panel on Launceston Hospital.  There will also be an update on the latest position with the proposed medical centre extension.

Eloise Travis from Cornwall Council’s environmental protection team will provide a briefing on air quality in Launceston’s Newport area.

In addition to this, Kate Kennally, Cornwall Council’s chief executive, and Jane Black, Cornwall Council’s service director for education and early years, will be there.

The agenda also includes an update on the progress with superfast broadband in the Launceston Community Network area.

Launceston Community Network Panel meets quarterly to discuss matters that affect the local area and to agree priorities that can be delivered by Cornwall Council and partners such as the police and health services.

The Launceston panel includes all five Cornwall Councillors for the area and representatives of the 16 parishes in the community network including Altarnun, Lewannick, Lezant, North Hill, South Petherwin and Stoke Climsland.

The meeting takes place from 7pm to 9pm in the Guildhall in Launceston Town Hall.
