Conservative MP Sheryll Murray has expressed her delight at her party’s success in Cornwall in the General Election.

Voters in the county returned a clean sweep of Conservative MPs.

The six constituencies all retained Conservative MPs, though it was a close run thing in the St Ives seat.

Mrs Murray easily won in South East Cornwall.

After the result was declared this morning, Mrs Murray said she was absolutely delighted that Cornwall would continue to be represented by six Conservative MPs.

She said: ’We have got really good Conservative MPs returned. We will give strong representation for Cornwall.

’We will fight for the best deal for Cornwall.’
