More than 90 people from across Cornwall attended the Councillor Fair held at County Hall on Saturday morning to find out how they could stand as a councillor in the forthcoming elections for Cornwall Council and town and parish councils.

This year’s elections for the 123 new members of Cornwall Council are being held on Thursday, May 4. The elections for Cornwall’s 213 town and parish councils are also being held on the same day.

The aim of the all morning event, which was chaired by Ann Kerridge, the Chairman of Cornwall Council, was to provide information on the role of a Councillor for people who are interested in standing for election. There was also information on the election process, and the support which is available for all newly elected Councillors.
