Less than one in five electors in Cornwall turned out to vote
yesterday for a new police and crime commissioner.
Figures show that out of an eligible electorate of 409,571 in the
county only 76,635 votes were cast. That means the turn-out was just
18.71 per cent.
The winner of the contest to become the next police and crime
commissioner for Devon and Cornwall is due to be announced later today.
