Cornwall Council will tomorrow debate a motion from St Germans and Landulph councillor Jesse Foot phasing out the use of plastics.

He has proposed: ‘Cornwall Council will, wherever possible, phase out the use of all single use cups, lids, plastic bottles, plastic-lined cardboard, and any other single use plastics from the entire Cornwall Council Estate by 2020.

‘In addition, Cornwall Council urges all businesses with which we work, through procurement avenues and other networks, to promote the banning of similar products in their business environments.’

Cllr Foot planned a litter pick at Cargreen Beach near Penyoke Play Park this afternoon.
