There is still time for people to take part in a consultation on the number of councillors to be elected to Cornwall Council in future.

Earlier this month, the independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England proposed that the council should have 87 councillors in future. The council currently has 123 councillors.

The consultation closes at midnight on August 7.

The consultation is the first part of an electoral review of Cornwall Council. Later phases of the review will redraw electoral division boundaries for every county councillor.

Residents can read the Commission’s consultation document and find out more about the review at www.lgbce.org.uk.

Consultation responses should be sent to [email protected], or by post to The Review Officer (Cornwall), LGBCE, 14th floor, Millbank Tower, London SW1P 4QP, or directly to the Commission’s online consultation portal at: consultation.lgbce.org.uk
