A REVIEW of a hotel's right to serve alcohol is due to be considered. The Lord Eliot on Plymouth Road, Liskeard, faces the possibility of having its premises licence revoked following a police complaint. The grounds for review are that the hotel may have breached its licence objectives by not preventing crime and disorder, selling alcohol to under 18s, and not preventing public nuisance. Police have asked Caradon District Council's licensing panel to look into the matter, which is to be discussed at a meeting on March 29. However, John Lundon, owner of the Lord Eliot hotel has denied the grounds. Caradon District Council licensing panel can take one of a number of steps if it views the company to be in breach of its premises licence.
