Pokemon fever is sweeping into South East Cornwall with the arrival of a new app for smartphones.

Pokemon Go allows players to track and capture creatures which appear in the real world around them on their screens.

While the app has not been officially launched in the UK, eager fans of the 1990s cult game and cartoon have been able to download it using links posted online.

Players can collect virtual items at ‘Poke-Stops’ which show up on their screens.

In Liskeard, the library, cattle market, fountain monument and parks are among the locations showing up as stops.

We have more on this story in this week’s edition of the Cornish Times, on sale from today.
