Children at Polperro Playgroup are enjoying their 'jazzed up' room after several local organisations gave generously to help with its refurbishment. When the village hall committee announced that their youth room was to be completely redecorated and have its floor varnished, the playgroup set about replacing its worn-out storage units. New solid wood cupboards with mirror, chalkboard and pinboard panels arrived, courtesy of a £7,000 grant, awarded through Cornwall Community Foundation. Polperro Playgroup is so pleased with its new look that it is hosting an 'All Jazzed Up' evening on Saturday, May 10, at the village hall with live jazz, tapas tasters and bar. Local businesses are supporting a grand prize draw, to be held on the night, with a John Fowler holiday, Isles of Scilly ferry tickets, Tate St Ives tickets and much more to be won.
