Around 35 residents attended a Liskeard Town Council planning meeting on Tuesday to voice their opposition to a plan to build 14 houses on a greenfield site in front of their homes. Councillors were told by the residents that the building of the houses, four of which would be ‘affordable’, would put more strain on the roads around the Trevillis Park estate, which is off Station Road, where there are already a lot of parked cars. They also said the plan would lead to the present residents being overlooked and it would have a ‘huge impact’ on their quality of life. They said cars, noise, and street lamps would replace the wildlife and the rural environment of the quiet estate. EJFP Planning Ltd, of Tavistock, acting as the developers for Andrew Lopez, have lodged an outline planning application for 10 dormer bungalows, plus an estate road and pedestrian/cycle lane, on the field in front of the last terrace on the 1960s-built estate.
