PLANS have been drawn up to build a nine-bedroom motel in a South East Cornwall village.
John Dale, landlord of the Manor House Inn in Rilla Mill, has submitted an application for the development on land bordering the car park at the pub.
The single-storey building, with 220 square metres of floor space, would have a natural slate roof and rendered fibre-cement board walls, with timber windows and doors.
It is planned to add eight spaces to the existing 40 in the Manor House car park.
Each of the nine rooms would have separate access and en suite facilities. The development would create two part-time jobs, says the applicant.
A flood risk assessment has to be carried out because the site falls within the Environment Agency’s definition of an area at risk.
Linkinhorne parish councillors have yet to discuss the application.
