PLANS have been submitted to turn a former police station into an undertakers premises with a flat above.

Walter C Parson funeral directors announced at the end of 2017 that they had purchased the empty police station in Callington.

The police themselves had moved into a non public-facing unit within the town’s pannier market in 2015.

Now a full planning application has been put in by the company, which hopes to open its doors in Callington at the start of next year.

Earlier this year, the Town Council welcomed the news that the empty building would be brought back into use.

It will be the eleventh funeral home for Walter C Parson in the South West. Assistant managing director John Ware said: ‘This is the seventh generation to run the business that started in Stoke Climsland so we are almost going back to our roots.’
