East Looe’s Town Trust is moving forward with plans to convert the former ladies’ toilets in the town centre.
The trust has applied to Cornwall Council for planning permission for a change of use and for listed building consent.
It is hoped to create a single-storey catering outlet with outdoor seating at the site, known as the ‘Wishing Well.’
Following a public consultation in April, three quarters of those who left comments said they supported the plans, says the trust.
A trust spokesperson said: ‘Those against thought that the toilets should be reinstated (but this is not within the trust’s powers) or that there were already enough catering outlets in the town.’
The public seating to the front of the site will be retained, the trust added.
