Cornwall Council’s education, health and social care commissioning team and Cornwall Housing Ltd are creating a specialist housing scheme in Liskeard.
It will be for adults with a learning disability and / or those diagnosed with an autistic spectrum condition, or those with mental health needs.
The former homeless hostel at Hendra Parc will provide 14 self-contained units with communal facilities designed for long or short-term accommodation. Residents will have secure tenancies and Cornwall Council is commissioning a care and support provider who will provide 24-hour support from the scheme.
The works are well under way at the site with the first tenants moving in in June 2016. The scheme includes two wheelchair accessible units and a shared house which will be used for short breaks or for people trying independent living for the first time.
