Plans for the future of Liskeard cattle market plans went out to public consultation last weekend. They will be displayed at Liskeard Show on Saturday, July 9 on the town council stand for anyone who wants to go along, view the plans and ask questions.

For those who can’t attend, go online at www.cornwall.gov/liskeardcattlemarket until Monday, July 11.

Three options have been put forward by consultants LHC following discussion with groups and organisations in the community.

Option 1:

Creation of a new civic space surrounded by small shops and workshops, with office space above and a new community hall in the eastern part of the site. Retention of a reduced Cattle Market and parking in the western part of the site.

Option 2:

Creation of a new civic space and Pannier Market surrounded by small shops and workshops, with office space above. Potential for a medium sized foodstore to provide funding and footfall, and parking in the western part of the site.

Option 3:

Creation of a new civic space and Pannier Market surrounded by small shops and workshops, with office space above. A new purpose built community hub to replace the Liskerrett Centre. Potential for a medium sized foodstore or Later Living apartments to provide funding and footfall, and parking in the western part of the site.
