NEW houses could see significant expansion of a hamlet near Liskeard.
At Lower Clicker, in the parish of Menheniot, landowner Steve Hore hopes to build 20 homes on land to the east of the existing settlement.
Mr Hore has asked for pre-application planning advice from Cornwall Council.
Lower Clicker is around a mile away from the village of Menheniot itself and the land in question adjoins fields believed to belong to the Sportsmans Arms Hotel; it also adjoins a rear access road serving houses on the Lower Clicker Road.
Members of Menheniot Parish Council voted to support the scheme in principle, but have asked the applicant to consider increasing the proportion of affordable homes to greater than 50%.
The Council says it would like to see plots for custom-build and self-build homes included in the development, as well as the provision of a play area and off-road parking.
