RESIDENTS of a hamlet fear a scheme to build 199 holiday lodges at a golf resort could be altered.

People who live in Woolaton, a small group of properties in the grounds of the St Mellion International Resort and Golf Club, are concerned that permanent residential housing could be built instead of holiday accommodation.

Resident Hilary Gill said: ‘I’m concerned because the area of St Mellion itself could not possibly support 199 homes – it does not have the infrastructure.’
