A DEVELOPER whose plans for a field on the outskirts of Liskeard have been rejected several times is being asked for more information before the local council gives its verdict on the latest scheme.
Andrew Lopes has put in an application for a 1.5 storey, stone clad house on land south of Trevillis Park.
It’s the sixth set of plans submitted to Cornwall Council for this field. Some of the earlier applications were for larger housing developments, but the current proposal is for one home.
When a pre-planning application was put in last year, planning officer George Shirley described it as a “reasonable approach which should sit better (than earlier proposals) in the rural context”.
The Trevillis Park Residents’ Association has objected to the most recent plans. They state that access is via a private, narrow and unkempt lane which exits onto what they describe as the ‘dangerous’ road to Looe.
They are concerned that construction vehicles would need to access the site across a grazed field, and they fear that any permission granted on the land could set a precedent for further development.
Liskeard Town Council’s planning committee decided to defer making any recommendation on the scheme until further information has been received. They want to know about the arrangements for surface water drainage and sewage disposal, and they also say they’ll await the comments of the Highways department.
