A decision on putting £3m of funding into building a Stadium for Cornwall will be made by Cornwall Council on April 17.
A detailed financial plan will be requested from the Stadium partners before the matter is discussed.
In January, the three partners leading the Stadium for Cornwall project, Truro and Penwith College, Cornish Pirates and Truro City Football Club, made a request to Cornwall Council for up to £6m of public funding to match the private sector £8m to secure the £14m development cost.
This is to deliver the project for the wider community and to safeguard the sports clubs as well as bring additional benefits to the college, which would enable the college to establish a new education and training centre for catering, hospitality, sport, leisure and health, together with a business, conference and hospitality centre.
The partnership has been extended to include Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) to incorporate a health and fitness centre as part of the Stadium complex.
