A licence to sell alcohol at a clifftop cafe in Portwrinkle would be ‘contary to the planning conditions for the cafe’ – and may cause a nuisance to neighbours, says the parish council.

The Jolly Roger has applied for permission to sell alcohol until 10pm.

But Sheviock Parish Council says that one of the conditions of its original planning permission states that the cafe should close by 8pm to minimise nuisance to neighbouring properties and to Portwrinkle as a whole.

At a meeting, the parish council agreed to send a letter of objection to Cornwall Council’s licensing officer.
