Budget supermarket giant Aldi could be coming to Saltash along with a new drive-through fast food restaurant.

A prospective new developer for the former Suzuki showroom at Carkeel has come forward and the company has submitted a proposed plan for the site.

Last year, Tesco, which owns the land, ditched its plans to build a superstore there.

With planning permission for a retail store still in place, developer Quora, whose partners include McDonald’s, Marks and Spencer and Morrisons, has requested a pre-planning application meeting with Cornwall Council.
