A Tamar Valley village is set for 141 more houses after plans were approved by Cornwall Council.

Wainhomes were given outline planning permission in 2013 for the scheme in St Ann’s Chapel.

A full planning application has now been given the go-ahead, despite concern from the council’s landscape officer that the construction of the new estate will lead to the visual merging of two separate historic settlements, St Ann’s Chapel and Drakewalls.

Calstock Parish Council has said it will ‘agree to disagree’ over the scheme, stating that had outline planning permission not been granted several years ago, it would object to the development in principle on the grounds of its size.
