Organisers are busy making plans for this year’s Torpoint Carnival, which will take place at the Cambridge Field, St James Road, from midday on Saturday, September 24.
The Torpoint Town Partnership is aiming to repeat the success of last year’s event and letters to local people have gone out this week inviting suggestions and canvassing support.
Stalls, sideshows and bands are all planned. The stalls will open at midday and from 4pm there will be a carnival procession around the town.
Carnival classes include vehicle tableaux for adults, children and trade entrants, fancy dress for all ages, walking groups, decorated prams or pedal cycles, and teams of majorettes.
Application forms to take part or hold stalls are available from Torpoint Town Council, 1-3 Buller Road, Torpoint, Cornwall, PL11 2LD.
