A PHOTOGRAPHER has received a national literary prize for her latest work in progress.

Lisa Woollett has been presented with the Royal Society of Literature’s Award for non-fiction, together with prize money of £5,000.

During the research for her forthcoming book, Lisa took a scavenger’s journey along a path steeped in her family’s history, from the banks of the Thames in London along the river to the coast and then on to Cornwall.

As she traced the beachcombing and mudlarking routes of her relatives, Lisa documented her finds in a series of photographs.

Her book, ‘Scavenging’, is due to be released in 2019 – and judge Fiona St Aubyn describes it as a ‘gem of a book and a find in itself.’

Lisa, who lives in Lansallos, was presented with the award by the Duke of Kent at 50 Abermarle Street, Mayfair.
