PLANS for a new pharmacy in Liskeard have been scrapped after a successful appeal by traders in the town.

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust (PCT) granted permission for a pharmacy to be created in the Morrisons superstore in April this year.

But an appeal was lodged against the proposals after the two existing pharmacies in the town, the two doctors' surgeries and Liskeard Town Council objected to the plans, which they said would threaten business in the town centre.

The appeal has been upheld.
