People can identify as Cornish in the next census

The 2021 Census will allow people to identify as Cornish, it was announced this afternoon.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has also proposed a new analytical offering on the population who identify as Cornish and how their health, housing, work and education differs from those who do not identify as Cornish.

National Statistician John Pullinger said: ’Everyone who wishes to identify as Cornish will be able to do so.’
