A big free Party In The Park will be taking place in Liskeard on Saturday, August 27, organised by the voluntary group Liskeard Community Action.

The colourful free event for families will be held in Castle Park from 11am-4pm, and also in the adjoining scout hut.

There will be den building, circus skills, bouncy castle, an art zone, face painting and entertainment from singer and guitarist Dan Coleman, Spanish Little Stars and Samba Kernow, story-telling by Mazed and Bill Chubb, and an opening performance from Wham Bam Drama Club.

The Real Junk Food Project will be providing food made from would-be waste food sourced in the locality and the event will also be the debut of Hotch Potch and Mishmash, which will be offering ‘pre-loved’ children’s clothes to the community free of charge.

Any donations of clothing can be made at the Liskerrett Community Centre reception desk in Varley Lane.

Leah Browning from Community Action says the group are urgently seeking some storage space for Hotch Potch and Mishmash.

They currently have no funding and rely solely on voluntary help and donations.
